This book presents a systematic study of the fresco decoration in the narthex and chapel of the church of Saint John the Forerunner in the katholikon of the Galataki Monastery, dated to 1586 and attributed with certainty to the Theban painters Georgios and Frangos Kontaris and their workshop. The study, which is in five sections, is preceded by a bibliography.  The text is followed by plates of drawings and photographs, and by indexes.
